i have a

sound blaster live 5.1 card, and i can not get my computer to let me choose this card in my sounds and audio devices, and when i try and install the driver, it says to make sure i have the card in properly.

now if the card was in wrong, would it show up at all in the device manager,

and i also noticed while looking at the device manager, i have to cards supposedly in the same pci slot, with the same port numbers, 1 of the being the sblive 5.1 card and the other being a multimedia audio controller, how is this possible, any ideas

First; delete the device that is stated to be using the same PCI slot, second; restart, but as you do, enter the BIOS and disable your onboard sound (in which I'm presuming you have), then boot up Windows again. It should now work.

If you don't have onboard sound, then just delete all audio devices and restart. If that doesn't work, maybe there's something wrong with the SB card itself.
