Default HP small compact desktop with a cpu upgrade problem...

I bought this used pc last weekend.
Currently in this little pc has a hp socket 478 motherboard with a new celeron d 2.66ghz cpu.
When I booted it up today, the pc said it could not unditify the cpu properly do to a microprocessor speed step error.
It said to call hp about a update code for the mobo ?
Can someone tell me if I would need a bios update for the pc recognize the celeron d ?

Here is the pc I have right now:
HP COMPAQ DC5000SFF
