Model of Computer: HP a6700f
Base processor: Phenom-9150e (A) 1.8 GHz (65W), 2000 MHz HyperTransport 1.0, Socket AM2+

Issue: The computer came installed with Vista 64-bit. I attempted to install XP 32-bit. Before I did that I contacted HP to get all the necessary drivers. After installing XP the drivers that I received from HP did not work. I called support and they said I needed to run the recovery CD, because they do not support changing operating systems. I ran the recovery CD and I get an error 1005. I researched this error and it seems that it is because I installed a retail version of the operating system. The only other information I can find is that I need to "brand" the hard drive. I need to know how to get the recovery disk to run so that I can restore the system to the original state.
