How to test optical drive speeds

Is there a way to test the speed of my optical drives. I have a NEC 4570A (i think that the name). I feel it is burning CD roms a bit slow and have not even tested it on DVD's yet.

i like Nero's DriveSpeed...If you use Nero as your CD-Burning software, you should have it already installed, if not, i believe you can download it free from their website
