hmm, dont think so, not off of the top of my head. try pointing the pc/usb antenna in the direction of the router.

What adaptor do you have.

You should be able to put it on the usb stick after you get a able to move it up and out.

What kind of router and adapter do you have?

I don't understand how you are having a hard time picking up a signal being only 30 feet away. I am 2 floors up from the router and I pick up full strength constantly.

It's easy to have bad reception due to router position. Computer placement. Wall construction, other 2.4ghz equipment, and equipment quality.

Well something like a microwave can screw up wi-fi...

Also, an unorthodox strategy that I've read when studying for an A+ Exam was using Aluminum Foil on the antenna of the router...

EDIT: I remember something on DL.TV that helped me at one time...

ya we were learning about something like this in Calc the other day. Its like a 'repeater' and it amplify's the wireless signal for a fartehr distance, and I am assuming making the signal strength stronger. something like this, Linksys - 802.11g Wireless-G Range Expander - WRE54G but they are kinda pricey :-)
