--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have an HP Compaq Presario.
Hard drive died. I had a spare IDE drive but the motherboard was SATA only so I ordered an IDE to SATA converter adapter. However the system still couldn't find the drive. I could access the BIOs but made no changes at the time.
I finally ordered a new 500gb SATA drive. However when I tried to boot up after plugging it in I got nothing. No post screen or anything. I have a PCI-e diagnostic card so I plugged it in. It gives me an Error #68 - 'Enable External and CPU Cache'.
I've reset the CMOS by pulling the battery but still get the same error on the diagnostic card and the system won't boot.
How do I fix this error??!!
