How Can I hide personal files on my computer, from others using my computer?

Ok so I have some personal files on my computer at home, and I dont want any of my other family members going into my folder with all my files, they include conversation with friends, pictures, videos, notes, ETC. I have them all in one folder, and i want to like "hide" the folder, or password protect it, so no one can go into my folder or look at my files...anyone know how to do this?

couple of ways to do this... 1st you can access the properties of the folder and set the attribute to "Hidden".

2nd. You can access the security tab on the folder properties and take the everyone group out of the list. Make sure you only have YOUR name in that list.

well everyone in my family uses one name on the computer thats why we dont have sepearte accounts, is there a way where i can password protect it, like when someone clicks on it u have to type in a password to get into the folder...because i have tried the hidden option and later on i couldnt even find the folder! so pleasee help again, thank you! ;-)

You can use applications that will do this for you, however I do not know of a "GOOD" freeware app that will do this. You can search for "Folder Security" in google to find these apps.
