Today lightning hit close to my house. My computer was on at the time, and shut off when the lightning hit. Now when i try to turn on my computer, nothing happens. Do you think the main problem is the power supply is gone, or the motherboard?

If I was to replace my power supply, are they all the same? My case has lots of lights and fans on it. Would any power supply have connectors for that?

Thanks

Hello,

Try cycling the power from the PSU. Turn the switch off and then turn it back on. See if that does anything. If you dont get any kind of flases from teh system then the PSU could be dead or worse.

Most system can use any type of PSU. But if you have a prebuilt like Dell you will have to get a specific replacement.

You will have to find one that can output the type of power you need. To run all your stuff. Not every PSU has a bunch of cables on it.

Cheers,
Mak
