High Pitched whine sound

It probably means something inside the psu is either...

1. hitting the psu fan
2. dying (e.g. one of the caps in the psu)

So, if the psu is under warranty, try RMAing it. If not, feel free to whack it once or twice. Really. Whack the psu on the side, if you're lucky you'll bump whatever is hitting the fan back to wherever it's meant to be. I should say be careful when you hit it, make sure you don't jar the rest of the components. Heck, even take the psu out and put it on the floor. You get the drift.

Unless you have electronic experience I wouldn't open the psu up. that CAN be dangerous.

So, to recap your options (in the order you should try them)

1. RMA
2. WHACK IT
3. if you can't stand the noise, replace it.
