Help - USB not recognizing flash drive

When I insert my flash drive into the USB slot, my computer beeps like it always has when it recognizes something in the USB port. Only diff. is that no prompt window pops up showing the contents of the flash drive? Any ideas? I can't get to my flash drive...

go to run in windows start menu. then type in the drive letter like F: if u have drives up to E: etc. windows will set it to the drive letter in order. unless u specifically told it to be another letter. if it doesnt show up or it says the drive does not exist then let me know and i'll help

Unfortunately I found out my USB flash card is shot. I tried it in another computer and it didn't read it either. Thanks anyways.
