Default Help with RAM

I just purchased this 8GB Canada Computers & Electronics | Memory | Corsair Value Select 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL11 1.5V SODIMM (CMSO8GX3M1B1600C11) module to upgrade my Dell laptop. When I installed it I got two beeps.

This is my laptop Inspiron 15 3000 Series—Affordable Laptop Available with Touch Screen | Dell Canada

I know I installed the RAM correctly.

That laptop wont work with 1.5v DDR3... It uses DDR3L which is low voltage, seems no one wants to use the L to show the different voltages like it's intended for...

So as long as the module is 1.35V it will work? What is the point of the implementation? To conserve battery life?

Pretty much - takes less voltage to run, therefore less overall power used to either put it to other components or conserve battery life.
