Help Please ... HDD description/information

Hello,

I have some general questions which I would like some help on...

I am working with a server and need some informaiton on how to get descriptions on HDD's...

1. When finding the Array # of a HDD, how do I find this... we have 8 physical HDDs in a server broken up in [(RAID 1=C-drive = 2 pdisks) (RAID 1=D-drive=2pdisks), (RAID 5=E-drive=4 pdisks)] format... so is Array 1 the C-Drive's... Array 2 D-drive's... and so on? Or is each physical HDD an array?

2. What is a "Disk Controller #" when looking at the format of our server from question 1?

3. What is a "Channel #" when also looking at the same server format?

PLEASE help I have no idea what this is and I have been googling this for the past 2 hours... HELP

No this is not homework... I'm 27yrs old. I have a packet for our software upgrade at our company and we do not have a IT Technician.

So... I think each array is the RAIDed pair.

Windows only sees it as one drive. So your C:/ drive (RAID1 with 2 hdds) will be seen as one.
