Default HELP: My computer is overheating & shutting off.

My computer is overheating & shutting off. But only when I try to burn something or play video games. Does anyone know what I can do?... Keep in mind I don't know a whole lot about computers (I'm not exactly a novice, but I'm not advanced either)

What kind of system do you have? Did you build it yourself? or buy it? How old is it? when was the last time is was cleaned out, etc... It could be a few things... Your CPU fan not sitting properly? Your PSU can sometimes shut you down depending on the settings... Could be your video card is the problem... Give us a little info to help you work the problem, please
