Does anyone know what the problem with my monitor is?

Is is a flat panel LCD that keeps shutting off every second i turn it out. I will puchthe button on and then a split second later, it cuts off. A pciture is shown for a second so i know that the LCD is nto broken. i think it is th epower. Are all power supplies to LCD the same?

look really closely and see if you can see a faint picture. I think it is your inverter. there is a little fluorescent tube in ther so you can see the picture, the inverter causes the tube to work. If it is the inverter if you look really close , maybe some extra light you will see a faint picture. I do not think refresh rate bothers LCD, that is only for crt that have deflection coils to " paint " a picture on the front of the crt. I could be wrong on that . When super vga came out i tried to drive a regular vga with super settings, it over drove the crt made a hissing sound then nothing. slight chance, very small it could be the vid card, can you hook the lcd to a notebook or another pc ?
