Help. I'm losing my patience...

Hi. I'm having problems with my pc. Everytime I push the graphics, update windows or anything else, the computer shuts down leaving the fans working. I have the updated software for everything and the funny thing is. It only happens while working in XP. I've tried installing windows in diferent hdd's but still the same problem. If I wasn't running a dual windows system (Win98, WinXP) then the computer was practicly useless. Any sugestions?

Was it ever working? What kind and wattage power supply do you have?

not necessarily the wattage, what are the full ratings on the psu? could not have enough amperage, i got a 140w ps that has the same amps as 350
