Help! Help!
every once in a while. Without failure. When im running a game or anything DOS related on my computer I will get a BLUE SCREEN

The error says this:

***Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity check / Memory parity error
***The system has halted***

This happens all the time and i have no clue as to why. Please help me!

Oh, and another piece of info is that i just recently Re-Formatted my computer, its only been happening since then

List System specifications.
List games/programs this happen in.

What background processes are running.

Anti virus and Anti Spyware Regularly updated and scanned?
Is windows up to date?
BIOs been flashed Recently?
Any new hardware additions recently?

games - typically when World of Warcraft is running this happens

AntiVirus and spyware is updated and scanned
I installed the dell version of windows xp for their laptops, im not sure if it includes service pack 2

BIOs flashed? im not sure

no new hardware

Anyways, have you tried updating your onboard graphic driver, direct X and patch for the game?

yeah, ive installed all the updated graphic drivers, im not sure if i have the newest version of direct x. i think i do. that might be a problem?

Have you run memtest? A parity error usually means something in memory is going haywire.

Edit: the first line of your first post should have been "i'm being repressed" :D

If your going to run memtest86+, four hours is the minimum amount of time.. Six is reccomended, but noone does that.

Bad memory usually records errors within the first 20 minutes if not less.

Google it, download the .iso version of it, Burn to a CD-R using IMGburn or Nero, Boot off of it, allow it to run for a minimum of four hours.

You may need to change boot priorities through your CMOS, so the button to access it during POST will depend on the manufacture of the laptop, should be in your Manual though..

Are you using vista by chance? If so, it has memtest built into it. Whenever it starts to boot up it gives you to option to "Test memory". At least home premium does.
