Help!!HD data retrive

here come the problem,I want to reformat my pc hd and I ask my father thousand times still have any important files to backup before i format.He answer with confirm NO.But after i reformat the hd and install the new windows,he comes to tell me he still have company data havent backup yet.
Izzit any expert can tell me wheather the data can retrive back or not ?

did you do a quick or full format? not a 100% someelse reconfirm but i think you can recover some data from quick but not full format

While I've heard of government investigators recovering files from formatted drives, I don't believe its something the average person can do.
