Help With Hard Drive

Help me out guys i have a slave harddrive which is a maxtor 120gb, it has ALL of my music, all of my written stuff and a lot of VERY important information. Now all of a sudden in the last few days it has been saying "hard disk D: Is not formatted would you like to do this now?" and i dont want to format it because it has all my files on it. please help.

Can you try putting the hard drive in another computer so that you can get the information off that way?

it appears whejn i go to mycomputer and click on the hard drive icon, and its in a different pc now and it says the same thing.

Go here and download TestDisk, I heard people were able to fix the problem with this program.

Thanks a lot for the link man and all of you for your responces but i found testdisk about 30 mins ago and am now about 90% of having all my files transfered over to my new hard drive. So glad i got it figured out, im doing it for a friend, he had all his stuff that was REALLY important on it and needed it to be saved.
