Exclamation help with error(s)

hello, I currently have a PC which is experiencing multiple error messages.

"A disk read error has occurred"

"Winnt_root\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt: Please re-install a copy of the above file."

"invalid ini file. Loading Windows"

Now I am trying to tackle these issues, but I'm really looking for advice which one to take on first. I'm assuming I can't take on the Winnt and the ini file error unless I fix the Disk read error.

If anyone has advice or can direct me to another post with the issue I must resolve or issue i must resolve first I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks,
Coleman

Run Memtest86+ to start with. It will test your memory which could be corrupting files.

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

After that I would recommend running the diagnostic tool from your hard drive manufacturers website. You'll probably need to know the hard drives model number also.

You burn them to a CD and then you set the CD Rom as the 1st bootable device in your bios. They should then load before Windows tries to load from your hard drive.
