HELP! CD Drive on Laptop runs extremely slow now, used to work great b4! IDK what hap

I downloaded infotool at other tools Nero had. My read speed is at 6x! Now I know that is not what it should be at! So far I've looked all over the internet and still no answer, does anyone have an idea?

Who is the manufacturer of your drive? Did you check for any firmware updates?

What is the status of the drive in Device Manager?

Perhaps, the drivers got corrupted. Go to the manufacturer's website and see if they have updated drivers. You can try a system restore or reinstall Windows if you're using a Windows driver.

If your drive is still under warranty you can exchange it. Sometimes, drives just become duds after some time or overuse.

I had an LG DVD-ROM suddenly stop reading CDs so I used it as an excuse to buy a Dual Layer Burner .

Latest Drivers, Device is still working. I guess I can send it in but it is such a hassle.
