heat sink won't fit?

Just got a new heat sink/fan in the mail today so that I couold finish putting together my semi-new computer. Only thing is the clips on the side don't really... fit. I'm almost positive that it's the right kind, though!

Here's the HSF...

I can get the unit in on the CPu no problem, but the clips won't reach all the way on both sides. Do I need a new unit or am I doing something wrong?

Try a screw driver to give yourself leverage on those clips.
I had to do the same thing.

Then again, I knew that it was the right heatsync for sure.
