Ive just instaled a new Mobo on my computer (after a problem involving fied BIOS) and im trying to get my two spinpoints working on it. However although one of the boots. when the other is pluged in it will never boot up, instead it get to the device scaning stage of the inisial boot, say
"Secondary HDD instalised
S.M.A.R.T enabled"
and stop here. at first i thought this was a frezze however when i press f2 to go into Bios the line of text which says "press f2 for Bios" changes to "booting into Bios" but never goes any where.
the currect architecture of my mobo is:
IDE 0
-primary HDD1
-secondary (none)
IDE1
-Primary DVD Drive
-Secondary (none)
all the drives are set to cable select and no position on the IDE's works for HDD2.
the only difference i can see between the two drives is around 3 months age and the S.M.A.R.T which isnt enabled on the working drive
please help!
