Default HDD is being weird...

Computer Details:
Acer inspire m3641
Sata 320gb HDD x 1 (with windows installed on it)
Vista Home Basic

Problem:
Right this is kinda weird i have a computer that when switched on runs windows fine, but when trying to backup using Active Disk (boot Disk) the hdd doesnt show up, i also tried Partion Manager (Boot Disk) and that wouldnt load atall.
I have tried taking the HDD out of the computer, using a external caddie i ran it on another computer and still not showing showing the hdd.
Any help would be great

That hard drive might be locked. Can't you just copy the data onto your pen drive, dvd or external drive?

thanks, yeah but like to be able to make a complete backup of everthing including os, drivers + and programs installed, and found active disk or partion manager the best way to do so as its quick and easy, do you know of how you can unlock the hdd?

No I don't.

You might want to try Ultimate Boot CD - Overview
There are many tools in there that might help you.
