My harddrive recently crashed and now I'm getting new bad sector problems almost every time I run chekdisk at startup.
The harddrive is a Seagate and I have downloaded Seatools and burned it on a CD. But every time i try to run it Seatools cannot find my harddrive.
I get the message "No Hard Drives found". Then I have to quit program. After it closes I get the following message: "(Seagate boot) Error reading from drive A: DOS area : write-protection violation attempted"

Why doesn't Seatools find my drive? Are there any other programs I can use to check my harddrive?

If you dont mind losing all your stuff if you already havent try a windows 98 boot disk. And at the A: type fdisk. There you can Delete your partitions if they even show and then at the A: type format C: if c is your drive. It may help. But the drive is probably toast...
