So recently my FC2 stopped working for steam and I've been trying dozens of possible solution procedures by Valve which involves transfering a lot of the core steam engine files ( 10+ gigs ) and game folders around. My question is, is all this transfering copying/pasting files back and forth lowering the life span on my hard drive? My friends I hear are replacing hard drives all the time, but I never had to replace a dying hard drive yet, but maybe thats because I don't do very many file transfers like I'm forced to do now.
