What is the average life?

I have an 80gb i got from a business and it was run for 17,280 hours, thats 720 days.

how do i find out how many RPM's that hard drive has?

its a maxtor, model # 4K080H4, serial # 674120947439

That drive is 5400RPM.

I don't know the average life. Some disks last 20 years. Some only 2. After about 5 years the drive is getting more likely to fail.

thats what the program is saying. that 80gb is 73% reliable and same with the performance.

my 300gb hard drive was used for 996 hours 41 days and that has 100% for everything and its 7200rpms.

thank you for finding out its 5400rpms. i used to know how to do that but forget now.

What is the average life?

Depends on the brand, model, how you use it, how long you use it for, how stable your power supply is etc....
