Hard Drive Problems!

The computer I have is mabye a 5 month old build I did my self. I think i just destroyed another Hard Drive. This will be the second brand new Hard Drive that has burned out in as little as 4 months. Is there something that could cause so many problems?

Bad luck??? What brand of hard drive? Are you letting them get far to hot?

I doubt its bad luck. lol. both hard drives have been western digital. Yeah, I bet those baby's are getting too hot. Any suggestions on how to find this out?

Is smart enabled? I would advise you switch it on if it is not already, that way you will at least get warnings.

it was set to auto in my bios. So i changed it to enabled mode.

There are some freeware apps that will alow you to check temps on HDD from what I understand. Might be something to look into. Get with western digital and get a new HDD. Keep an eye on temps in the future though and make sure that theres plenty of air flow to them.
