The only difference between quick format and full format, is that full format does chkdisk and quick does not.

I hardly ever use the quick format option unless the hard drive/partition is a large size. A 320mb hdd takes forever with a full format haha. But in most cases I've always run the full format. It's never a bad idea to run chkdisk before a clean install.
