I have 2 hard drives in my pc. The slave drive stores all files I want to keep in 3 partitions. I made an image of my main drive with acronis true image when I had all my drivers/programs that I want on the pc.
I have recently bought a new monitor,keyboard and mouse so what I wanted to do was to reinstall xp pro (pc was a little clogged up with all sorts of rubbish) load the drivers for the new hardware then make a new image. Everything went fine but when I went into my computer the slave drive showed up as 'd' and it said it was not formatted. It was formatted and had all my important files on it.
I used the acronis program to restore to the image I had made and everything was ok again.
I just can't figure out why xp did not detect the slave drive with my files stored on it.
I hope someone can explain why.
