Hard Drive Noises!

HELP!

My hard drive is making noises from time to time...sounds like clicking noises....

Does this mean I need a new hard drive because it is sticking??

how bad is the clicking all hard drives click in normal use but if it is a ver bad clicking that has developed rapidly or gotten progressively worse over time it may be a problem

what make and model is it, then we may be able to help.

I reccomend downloading speedfan if you haven't already as that can perform in-depth scans of the hdd and give you answers! (as to if anything is wrong etc!)

Sounds like you've had the same trouble I've had with Maxtor.

Yea, back up your critical files now before it's too late.

im not sure those *clicks* arent normal , alot of hds makes a single click when being powered on/off or a second before a bsod/random restart, if thats the case you got nothin to worry about , but if it clicks just like that that aint good, might wanna get it checked with manufacturer diagnostic software

I call this the Western Digital CLICK OF DEATH.

Sounds like the drive might be starting to die. If I were you, I would IMMEDIATLY back up on disc or another drive, any important info on this drive.
