Hard Drive and DVD Drive problems

Hi, i just installed a new 200gb HDD, but i didn't set the jumper settings or whatever as i read you don't need to with sata. So i just left it as that until i just tried to burn a CD and realised my 2 DVD Drives are not being detected On 'My Computer', 1 DVD Drive and 1 CD Drive appears but nothing happens when you click on them and nothing happens what i put a cd/dvd in one of the drives.

Not too sure what to do now. Any help is greatly apprciated.

are the dvd and cd pata and on the same cable ? turn off your pc and unplug , make sure that the data cable is not partially out at the mainboard or at the drives.
