Default Hard drive dissapears

The computer running the erver here at work has the main hard drive and then the drive d: where we have like the majority of the files. Well for some weird reason someties its there and sometimes its not some times it takesl ike 5 reboots to show it.....and if it does show it it will be there for a about an hour and then boom its gone...

turn on S.M.A.R.T in the bios and see what it has to say..

Is it a partition or a second drive?

Check the connections and try a different IDE port if you can.
