Hi, I recently took apart my old computer, and when I installed the hard drive from the old into my new rig (as a secondary HD), I got problems.
Whenever I try to access the HD, it takes a hideously long time to do anything (10x slower than my other HD) even though they are both IDE, and both the same specs. Also, while the HD loads data, the mouse skips across the screen. (instead of a smooth motion as normal) This makes playing games like CS Source a nuisance, as it makes an awful noise and lags the whole computer down just to load up steam. Could this be because of temperature? Or something else?
Also, my computer is a generic Dell with stock motherboard, nothing special here.
