Specs:
Asus A8V motherboard
AMD 3800+ duel core processor
Windows XP 64
Raedon x700 agp
1 gig (duel 512 mb) Patriot ram 3200
Western Digital 7200 RPM 120g hardrive

The first few times I booted up after installing my hard drive and operating system there was no trouble on the motherboards side to identify the hard drive. There are a few times during boot up however that the hard drive isnt picked up. When going into bios it shows that the hard drive is not detected, also the hard drive makes constant clicking sound when it isnt detected.

Any clue on how to fix this?

P.S. - I doubt the hard drive has a problem with it, this is the 2nd hard drive i've had this problem with, the first one which was brand new had a similar problem.

sorry, its the harddrive. Apperently your MB isn't taking well to these hard drives. I would replace the MB. Any clicking sound in the Hard drive means time to replace it soon.
