first check if u hav enough WATTS on ur PS
http://journeysystems.com/power_supply_calculator.php

hav u installed the video card ur self? , if yes check the BIOS to be set to 256mb on the video card option and also set it to x4 or x8 or wat ever the video card is

if no check the Half-Life game support for ATI video cards

Latest 6.7 drivers, not above 37 degrees. I uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers. It seemed to work longer than before the first time i ran it, but now it crashes like normal again.

I had the same issue with a similar card. It would either do what happens to you or the game would lag or crash the pc. I had to deal with this for months. Try all games and see if it does the same. New or even old drivers might fix this. I had to use old drivers to get it to work till new ones came out which fixed the problem.
