Graphics on mums computer no longer work

My mum was using her PC today and all of a sudden a message appeared saying the graphic driver has stopped work and that she needs to reboot the computer... I rebooted it and now nothing shows on the screen... I can't even get into BIOS...

What has happened and what can I do?

You can tell us her specs

Is she using a video chipset on the motherboard, or a seperate AGP/PCI card?

It is a seperate AGP card... It's pretty old and I don't know what type it is...

She has windows xp installed...
