Hello.
I recently upgraded my computer, which became a major overhaul.
It was all very exciting, until I had it up and running.
I tried to play Half Life 2, and after a few minutes, the screen froze and the sound stuck in a loop. Then I tried a different game, UT2K4. same thing. Quake 3, same thing. every single game i tried did it. I started trying to ascertain the problem, with benchmarks. 3dmark05 caused the same issue (without the sound). As did the FFXI benchmark.
My setup is
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Winchester) socket 939
ASUS A8V-E SE
ATI RADEON x850 XT PCI-e
2 Kingston 512 RAM
I ran memtest86 and after 10 hours, there were 0 errors.
It runs xp64 without a hitch.
I have the latest Catalyst drivers, CPU driver,
and BIOS.
I think it's either an issue with either the video card, or the motherboard.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
