Default Graphics Card Compatibility

The mobo i currently have is an ASRock 775Dual-VSTA (i know its not good)
and my brother has recently upgraded his card and thrown the XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX at me lol

my question is whether or not this card is compatibile with this mobo, i look on their website and see no XFX products what so ever

Default Re: Graphics Card Compatibility

Hello,

If the mobo has a PCIe slot the card will work. After looking at the specs of the mobo it will not work. You have a PCIe slot but only a 4x slot. You need a mobo that can do a PCie x16 slot. Your mobo is older and still uses AGP cards. The 8600GT is not a AGP card.

So no you can not use it. If you got a new mobo, maybe even one that could support your CPU you could use it then. But with your current mobo you are out of luck.

Cheers,
Mak
