Hey guys,
I recently bought a new ASUS ATi Radeon HD 6950 and I have been experiencing freezing whilst playing games with the sound looping in a harsh way, with the only solution being a harsh reset. I have checked the temperatures and currently the GPU sits idle at about 40-45C and while playing a game (Battlefield 3) it can get anywhere up to 70C although the average is 65C. I was under the impression that this is normal but as any extended play results in this crash and finding nothing online I am in need of advice.

I have updated the drivers of the GPU, direct x and sound and am up to date with CCC.

My specs are
Mobo: P5K-E WIFI AP
PSU: 600W
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
RAM: 4gb
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6950

CoolerMaster? Those aren't the most reliable brands. May as well be your PSU that is failing to give enough power.

Did you have any problems when you were first installing the card into your MB? I have the same card and MB but I can't get any output signal whatsoever from the card :/
