Yes, you are right the hdd will need to be replaced, but making a partition around the bad sectors ? ?_?
i rather, just backup what needed data I have on the hard drive, before it croaks.
Any hard drive that is failing to boot up or hard to manage on linux/windows environment..
Shoot the drive dead and get a replacement when you can.
