Gomputer suddenly stopped working..

The comp was running constantly for over a week, due to a large torrent file. Then suddenly the monitor went grey, then the system shut down. No sign of power to keyboard or anything.
I did buy a new power supply, but all that happens on startup, is the power light blinks once for a fraction of a second.. then nothing.

Any advice that can point me in the right direction would be gratefully received before I end up buying new parts I don't need to buy.

i would try this first. i'm guessing a piece of hw went bad. hopefully it wasnt the mobo. start stripping off parts and powering on
