Default geforce 7950 GT SC

Hey everyone, I have a eVGA geforce 7950 GT SC and for some weird reason it won't run cs 1.6 on a stable 100 fps unless i turn vsync ON. Sometimes i feel that my CPU is bottlenecking my video card, what do you guys think? I'm running a 3.4 GHZ P4, 700 W PS, WD Raptor, and a BFG tech 680i SLi MB.

Could be the cpu but im not really sure about Intel processors.
Although between 70-90FPS should be very smooth and playable so why are you worried your not getting a solid 100?

well a 7900gs runs css perfectly with 100fps on high settings. I dont see why you cant play 1.6 with 100fps. it could be your cpu but i doubt it

on other games 70-90 fps is above decent, but on cs 1.6, which is a 7 year old game running on direct x 7 is actually horrible. I have the most updated drivers, anyone else got any other ideas?

some games arent really compatible with dual core processors. Ive heard some people get 24fps and below with amd x2's although its never happened to me (x2 4800).
