Check your temps. That would be the first thing I would suspect, is a video card overheating. If the temps are fine, do you have a spare monitor laying around? Any should do, just plug in one that you know is in good working condition, and let it run and see if the monitor shuts off. If it does, GPU should be checked out. If it doesn't shut off, I would suspect the monitor is messed up. I've had a similar problem with an Acer LCD, and it turns out that a few resistors are burnt out on it. Since it seems the monitor still shows signs of it being good ("pretty much says no signal"), I would suspect the GPU is at fault.
