recently bought a HD4850 try to play modern warfare 2 , but with resolution of 1280 x 1024, the game is not as smooth as i thought, so wanna ask why is that ?

my rig spec:
M2N32 SLI deluxe mobo
3 GB OCZ ram DDR2 800
AMD X2 3800+
SATA HD
XFX HD4850

OS windows XP sp3
I suspect the communication between CPU and ram is not good... how can i check it and improve it ?

if i upgrade to amd 6000+ , will it help ?
when i played Borderland or farcry 2 , the screen hang after sometime

Don't bother with the 6000+.

I'd look into some of the AM2+ Athlon II's or Phenom II's, because it seems your board has Am2+ support.

Yeah your cpu is killing you. MW2 runs great with a 4850 @ 1280x1024, I've got one, and a phenom II 940.

OK, i will go for a Phenom II . Is both AM2 and AM2+ have the same interface ? ( connector)

another thing, should i upgrade the RAM too?? to my knowledge 32bit systtem cannot make use of more than 3gb ram #

thanks

Take a look at your boards cpu compatibility list:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

Looks like a Phenom IIX3 715 is the best it can run with a bios update. You may want to email Asus in case they have added support for more processors.

For ram your are correct that basically 3 gb is the limit for a 32bit OS. Take 3.5 and subtract the amount of gpu ram you have for the actual number.
