Further DVD-drive help please.

My previous problems were discussed in that thread. I got new DVD media (Sony DVD+Rs) and Roxio Suite 8 and tried to burn my data. Same problems occur. Occassional bad burns and file verifications.

It was a bare drive installation on a Dell Dimension 4600. NEC-N3550A or something like that. I got it in the beginning of March and don't think I can apply for an RMA this late. Any ideas?

PS - Sorry to carry this onto another thread. I tried bumping the original but it wasn't getting any action.

Well here's some obvious suggestions:

You for sure are burning to + dvds

You are not burning something thats copy protected (these sometimes cause screw ups, try burning data for a test)

You can also try other burn software, my favorite by a long shot is Nero.

Yes. The files are avi or zip format so far. I am for sure burning to +DVDs. I tried -DVDs and Nero 6 previously, then switch to see if those were the problem. I guess they weren't.
