Frontal USB&Other slots don't work.

I brought a HP computer a while back, and I just noticed that the front USB ports, and SD memory card slots don't work.
They show up on the device manager as working properly, but don't recognize devices.
Any reason why this would be?

Well the only thing i can tell you would be to go to the manufacturers website and download all the latest drivers for your computer.YOu could also scan for viruses.

are they connected inside the case? i got a compaq like this, they forgot to connect the front connector for the usb/aud...amasing, u would think they would have a quality control to check for these type of things...

I as well would think they are probably not hooked up. take a look inside then let us know.
