It could be try cleaning out the dust and see what happens. Maybe try reseating your hsf and blowing out any dust under that. Also try putting some as5 on your cpu.
that definitely sounds like overheating. Make sure your fan is running and your heatsing is properly seated on the CPU. Dust build up may be causing your problem it doesn't hurt to take off the heatsink and blow it out.
