Formatting partition outside of Windows ?

that is the bad thing about windows, it freaks when a file system is messed up and usually freezes. another reason why linux is nice hehe. I have used it to access data on drives that had corrupt files before.

puppy linux is awesome for this. boots off the cd and runs completely in memory.

Didn't know he had a maxtor hdd. Yet another reason why we must be as specific as possible in the first post and put your pc specs in there.
