Floppy trouble....

I have a Dell Power Edge 1600SC,

I am getting Diskette Drive 0 Seek Failure. I have verified that the cable and Floppy are indead good, I tested both in my 600SC. I was thinking the Mainboard controller went out so I decided to hook the cable backwards w/ an old non idiot proof cable and sure enough the drive passed @ boot up and even Windows found it and it shows up in "My computer", but the Power Led on the floppy stays lit and I get the "insert disk" error you get them cabled wrong...

Anyone have a clue what is going on?

could just be a bad floppy drive.

you can get a new one for less then 20 bucks.

a link to a black internal floppy drive.
that should match the dell case.
give that a go. it is after shipping about 12 bucks

I have tested the floppy, cable etc all work in another poweredge.
