Floppy Disk Drive Problem

I installed a Starlogic Floppy Drive in place of my non-working floppy drive, and it has power and everything, when i insert a floppy, it just says please insert Disk in Drive A, anyone know what might be the problem ?

either that or ure floppy drive cable is around the long way

if the light stays on the whole time the ribbon cable is plugged in backwards
